I want to know if anyone has installed a set of Spoon SW388 Lightweight Forged Wheels on their S2000. If so, were there any advantages on these wheels, and possibly some pictures to be posted. I am interested at a set, and would anyone know a site or vendor that has a competitive price? Thanks...

Mingster,

What's the story with the new 17" sw388s? Will they become available for purchase anytime soon? or was it something they cooked up for the auto salon only?

Any information on it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

That I'm not really sure - but seeing how Spoon's been flirting with Work wheels I won't be surprised to see two lines of wheels (or they may even drop the Rega Masters) from Spoon Sports. If I could afford it I'd go with Work too

I would consider the following (all come in S2K-specific fitments):
1) 17" Volk Racing CE27N - currently the lightest (I believe) 17" wheel

I just got back from T'hill, and I ran the Spoons w/ Tein ra setup for the first time on the track. I now know why Spoon are using Work wheels. The front offset on the SW388 is too much! The lowered suspension w/ the Teins were definately faster, but at the cost of the front tires being shredded to hell on the outside. I had to roll the fenders in, but still wasn't enough. BTW I don't think adding more neg. camber would be the solution to this problem. The car was handling fine, and I wouldn't change the camber on account of tire shred. Anyway, I'm going to think about different wheels for the track.

They're fine w/ the stock wheels and Teins -- no rub.

As with speeeding, the 205 fronts on my Spoon wheels rub with the suspension lowered on Mugen coilovers. This is with 2 deg neg front camber. I plan to run CE28Ns on the track, however.
