Default Stagger question

Hi,

I am a bit confused about the advantages and disadvantages or staggered and non staggered rims. I read the sticky and it mentions that stagger is essential to have better safety/handling for your S but when I did a search (because I was seeing many people going non staggered setup) one guy mentioned that non staggered is better for a track setup.

Can someone explain this to me?

Thanks

What is your suspension setup? What is your usage? If stock suspension and primarily street usage, I'd stick with a staggered setup.

If you went non-staggered, you would want to change your suspension setup to take advantage of the additional front grip available, particularly with the AP1.

Personally, I don't believe there's anything "magical" about an exactly square/non-staggered setup. Tire size choice might also be limited by tire make/model choice. Ferinstance, with Hoosiers the 255 width tires have too high an aspect ratio (50 for 16s, 45 for 17s), so I might try 245/275 over a square 245/245 setup or too-tall 255/255 setup.

Stagger vs. non-stagger is only one part of the total setup equation.
