Default Staggered vs non-staggered

What reasons would there be to go with a non-staggered setup?

Does it mess up the handling?

I.E. F: 17x8+45 R:17x9+45 vs 9in all around?

Mainly looks. You can still run staggered tires on non-staggered wheels. People who run non-staggered tires usually account for the handling change with alignment and suspension settings.

Non staggered benefits are primarily for the track :
Can rotate the tires F/R to even out the wear.
Less understeer (especially if you run a wing)
Improved braking
Improved cornering power - Most will add some toe in at the back (which will lessen oversteer tendencies) to balance out the additional front cornering power

I just went w/ 8.5 all around. Is it normal for the car to feel a little more "loose"?

For daily street driving would the nonstaggered setup feel more heavy or slower due to the larger contact patch?
