Default Stock AP1

I know this topic has been beat to death but i cant find much searching the forums on tires for the AP1.

I thought i remember seeing the the S-02 was one of the best tires you could run on the 16s because of the way it sits, if i remember right the 225 sits like a 245. I was told that that tire was discontinued although I can still get it.

Does anyone know of an alternative that will either be equal or work better then the S-02 for pure dry summer performance. I have been looking around but not many summer tires are available in anything bigger then a 225.

Thanks in advance

So then will the Re01 or the Z1 put the same amount of rubber on the road as a S-02?

There are more important things than the "amount of rubber on the road", but I'm sure that they'll both have a similar contact patch area to the S02 at similar inflation pressure. Both should give better dry grip.

Yeah i know there are many other things that are probably more important then the actual contact patch, but i was mostly just curious how the S02s compare to other tires, but i will probably get the RE01s since i was already looking at them.

With RT615's, no good size for fronts. You'd either have to run 225/50's all around or run 215/45-16's up front which are too short and aren't recommended for a 6.5" rim.

Hankook RS2 comes in a 245 and is a good value.

Don't confuse the RE-01(0) with the RE-01
