strakes too small with 18" wheels?
just noticed that the strakes (the things that look like mud flaps in front of the wheels) do not cover much of my new larger tires (9.5" in the rear)...
since they are there to break up airflow at the wheel to improve performance, i am wondering if anyone has thoughts on how larger tires will be effected by the small strakes.
i recall a thread where someone took them off and noted that handling at speeds above 80 mph was affected.

i got a message that even small strakes will cause the desired effect... they create a "wind shear" in front of the tire (like a vacuum... or sorta like "shadowing" a car in front of you when you race -the front car breaks air resistance and creates a vacuum like area that uses less fuel and power).
i also understand that honda is now putting them on all cars... but have not noticed this yet.
