Default Sumitomo HTR Z III

Im in need of new tires. I want something decently quiet on the street, but that can give me decent performance on the autox. Ive decided that for the price, the Sumitomo HTR Z III is the tire for me. My question is do i need to go with the stock size on this tire, or maybe a 225/45 front/255/50 rear? I don't really know much about the geometry of tires etc, and ive heard that the stock size isnt always the best size to go with depending on the tire. Im looking for some quality input, id like to make the purchase asap, hopefully to have the tires by this weekend.

Thanks

JD

Stock size should totally be fine, but I'd go with 225/45/17 fr and 255/40/17 rr. They should fit fine on stock wheels.

Has anyone checked the pricing recently? Maybe I am just confusing myself, but did the price go up? I swear they used to be cheaper!! I was just about to place an order and they seem a bit more expensive than they were before....

I ordered through tirerack initially, i just called them and voided the order. I found them locally for cheaper than tire rack sells them, plus i don't have to wait to get them shipped.

A friend of mine has a dealer contract w/ Carroll Tire distrubuters. I got the set for 390 picked up. No tax, no shipping, instead of the 450 shipped tire rack charges.

The tires are priced are 91.00 front and 99.00 rear. Our price would be less than 450.00 delivered. You would be looking at close to 410.00 delivered.
If I can help let me know.
