Default Sumitomo HTR Z III - anyone running them?

Just saw these on the tire rack, tire rack rated them #1 over the stock re050 tires.

They seem to be a newer tire, but I am curious if anyone here has any experience with them as far as wear and grip goes?

Pricing wise, for a full set, they are about $300 cheaper then the stock tires! If they perform better, even better!

Thanks!

Jim at tire rack speaks very highly of these tires and the price and treadwear is awesome

Good to hear, I may have to buy these up. Cheap, good tires, just what I need

I was straying towards just buying OEM tires, just because it seems like its the "right" tire for the car - but these seem to be ranked higher than OEM's?

I lost out on some Bridgestone potenza RE050aII runflats on Ebay today, probably just as well, they were "slightly" used. Plus I've heard the run flats ride very harsh. I'm going to just give in and order the Sumitomo's from Tire rack in a couple weeks.

IF you do get them, could you(before you mount them of course ) please let me know how thick the side wall is? I don't want to get something that is thin.

Have a very thin sidewalled tire now and you can feel the car shift weight after the turn is complete.

Its hard to explain but, it sucks

I just put some on friday to test them.

So far they are pretty good. I haven't had a chance to really run then hard (canyons) so no real testing yet. But so far so good.
