Default Taking the centers out of 3pc wheels

I need to replace the valve stems in two of my HREs and I'm considering just having them take the tires off all of them so that I can really work on the wheels. They've got a couple seasons on them and could go for a good hard refinishing. This way I could really work on the outer rims and could have the centers repainted or powdercoated.

My question is.... How hard is it to do this? I don't want to separate the two outer halves, I just want to take the centers out. Anybody done this? If it's easy to mess up, I'll probably just wait a while and send them back to HRE or other professional when these tires are shot to have them completely refinish them. I wouldn't take the centers out with the tires still on, but since I have to take the tires off for new stems anyway, I might just use this opportunity to polish up ma bling bling, .

Thanks guys

You need to make sure you get the correct bolts. I know OZ's bolts are a one time use bolt and need to be replaced. I would check with H and R. You would also need torque specs.

I'm taking the tires off down a Eurosport which is both an HRE handler and also one of the Tirerack "service centers" (if that's what you'd call them) I'll double check with them.
