Default Tire Choice?

I live on the west coast of Canada where we get quite a bit of rain in fall, winter and spring, but only a light dusting of snow for perhaps a week each year. When there is snow, my driving will be very minimal. The temp. is rarely below zero Celsius. Summers are usually fairly dry. My 05 S2K is my daily driver. I only plan to have one set of tires for the car.

Two questions:

1 Do you folks recommend summer tires or all-seasons for my needs?

2 What do you recommend as a good tire for tread wear, comfort/quietness, and performance in that order?

Thanks a lot for your help!

If you can absolutely not drive during when there is snow you may be able to get away with DW but if you have to drive in snow get the DWS.

For your wants/needs/usage, there's no reason to get summer tires, and every reason to get all-seasons. Just make sure the tires you select have decent snow/ice/cold traction, some "all-season" tires actually suck pretty bad in the snow.
I'd go with either the Continental DWS or Bridgestone 970AS Pole Position.

If you might see some snow, DWS all the way.

Id go with a 2nd car and run some proper extreme summer tires on the S. No S should be subjected to adverse weather/snow. But that's just me Good luck!

I had the Continental DWS on my car when we had the freak snowstorm here in Dallas last year and they held up really well. Would definitely recommend them

Thanks everyone. Great advice so far.

I have no experience with the Continentals but a couple friends have recommended the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus or the Pilot SS, and someone else recommended the Bridgestone 970's, so I think I've narrowed it down to those 3 tires. Now I need to decide.

Any specific experience you folks have had with any of those 3 tires that might help me make up my mind?

I really appreciate your input. Thanks!
