Default Tire decision

ok...after hours of reading through the multitude of threads re: replacement tires I have pretty much decided on the Yoko AVS Intermediates. 205/55-16 fr 245/45-16 rear. I will be replacing the rears soon and leaving the OE fronts on for a while.
Can someone who has tried these please comment?

Last week I fitted 245/45 Goodyear F1 Eagles and left the S02's on the front. Not good. Pumped up the rears to 36 psi and gained a bit of improvement. Today, I put Eagles on the front too (205/55) and put those at 36 psi also. Feels good but I haven't had a real chance to try them out yet (we're having 50 - 100 mph winds over here in the UK just now)

Anyway, my experience is that mixing makes front and rear doesn't make for good handling

The AVS Intermediate would be an excellent handling tire. I just got back from the Jim Russell School and they had the AVS on the race cars and unless you made a mistake you couldn't break them loose. You also can't beat the price at 76.00 front and 103.00 rear.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

Jim - Thanks for your reply.
I know this is an unusual consideration but I'm concered about how the tires look on the car. Someone on the board described them as looking like snow tires. I don't want a tire that looks out of place on the car. Maybe he had the stock sizes.

Just enter your size and you can see your tread pattern. I don't think they look as aggressive as the S02 but I don't think they look like a snow tire.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
