Default Tire fitment question

I was wondering if i can fit a 245 tire on a 10 inch wide rim? will the rim be sticking out? Will it be too stretched? I dont mind it being stretched, as long as my rim is protected. Does anybody have pics? Let me know.
thanks

I think it could be done. But, the wheel will stick out past the tire. And the tire will look super stretched.
I would use a wider tire on a 10 inch wide wheel. I had a 225/35/20 stretched on an 8.5 inch wide wheel. I was unhappy because the tire offered no protection for the wheel.

I have a 255 on a 8.5 inch wide wheel on my S2000.

Go to tirerack or the tire mfr's website and look at the specs for the specific tire you're thinking about. For any given size they list a range of rim widths that it can be mounted on. If the tires supports the 10" width, you should be fine.

That said, I doubt you'll find a 245 that can go on a 10" rim. 255, maybe...
