Default Tire Rack: 205/55-r16 on the rears?

I bought my car used with this current set up 205/55-16 and 255/50-16.... Are the rears doing any damage/harm?

Jim,

Are you able to get SSR Type-C

16x6.5 +45 (front)
16x7.5 +48 (rear)

I would run the same tires

205/55-16 (front)
255/50-16 (rear)

Thank You!!

Why do you wanna keep that oddball rear size? 255/50-16 is over an inch taller than OEM. Nothing particularly nasty should result, but braking will be more biased to the front and you have worse gearing. Also, no really high performance street tires are available in 255/50-16. Very few are available in 245/45-16, a bit more selection in 225/50-16 (OEM size). If you want wider high-perf street tires, you're pretty much forced to go to 17" wheels.
