Default Tire Rack keeps wheels a secret?

Anyone else find it annoying that Tire Rack won't let you view any sizes or specs on the wheels they sell?

I talked to them and they said it's to prevent me from buying the wrong wheels for my car.

In the meantime, they allow me to browse every spec on every tire they have and order any set I want that doesn't fit my car.

You have to know what specs you're looking for and then select a car that accepts those wheels. Try using the NC Miata and RX8 (various trim levels for both) to see other wheels that may fit an S2000.

It's a really annoying system to work with if you understand what can or can't fit your car, but I get why they do it because people don't actually know what fits

Yep i've found it pretty annoying. What it achieves for me is sealing the deal that I wont be buying any wheels through them and will look elsewhere. People should just ask someone directly at Tirerack if they need clarification on a wheel spec before ordering.

You have to be your own expert here, Tire Rack is only ever going to show wheels that are a slam-dunk conservative fitment and will never show fitments that require coilovers or negative camber or fender-rolling to fit. Figure out exactly what sizes and offsets you want/need, go to wheel manufacturer sites to see if your preferred wheels are available in sizes/offsets that will work, then you can call up Tire Rack (or whomever) to order them, let them know you've done your homework and that they'll work for you. I ordered wheels for the FD this way.

All that run around could be avoided if they just listed the sizes available even if you couldn’t order them on the spot.

Still doesn’t make sense though since they allow you to order as many tires that don’t fit your car as you like.
