Default Tire recommendation for 600+ HP

Looking for a decent tire that will provide traction for my setup. Im not really drag racing the car at moment but would like a solid street/strip tire. i have no traction at moment.
Im running 19x9 on the rear i believe. 255x40x17. At moment car is on E85 at 600+whp

Ill get some details later when i have access to the car.

I hope you're running 255/40-17s on 17x9s and not 19x9s

I run Nitto NT01s on my ~550hp FD, 255/40-17 fronts and 275/40-17 rears. After floundering around on Pilot Super Sports and then RE71Rs... IMO the NT01s make great street tires as long as you avoid standing water. And the drive grip is far superior to even the RE71R. IMO, NT01 is your tire...

sorry 17x9 lol. I was considering 275/40-17 NT05R in rear and 255/40-17 NT01 in front.

I'm running the Toyo RA-1 in 275/40-17. Very sticky.

??? Why not at least *try* NT01 all around? Mixed DR rears with roadrace/autoX fronts on a sports car IMO not the best idea...

Presumably he's running RA1 up front as well. Again, no good reason to mismatch front/rear tires, it's not a Fox-body Mustang street/drag car :P

Like, they've heat-cycled out or otherwise gone "off"? Maybe new ones would be enough for a while... That said if you've tried them and they don't work for your usage (some drag), I doubt RA1s would be any better in that regard. Might as well try the NT05R rears like you were talking about...
