Default Tire size

I just ordered ray grams 17x9 with 38 offset. Just wondering what the best size and reasonably priced tire to run for a daily tire as well as an occasion touge

255/40, but it's going to require a lot of fender work. 245/40 the alternative that you might consider and would be easier to fit.

It looks like he has over fenders, based on previous post. If they’re done right then he should be able to fit 255 pretty easily. MPSS and MPS4S are usually well received. Good spectrum of performance over most environments except severe cold and snow. If they’re the first summer tire you’ve driven they’ll impress. If you’ve driven the 200 tw wonders then not so much but still more than enough for street. Conti extreme contact DW also seem to be popular recommendations for this car. I haven’t driven the DW but I have driven DWS and those at least were pretty unimpressive. If you feel spicy and don’t mind a more focused route then Hankook RS4 have been pretty doable for me.

Having had 255 on my old 17x9, I’d go 245. Just look better.

It can depend on the tire and its tread width. There is a lot of variation within a tire size.

IMHO 255 looks fine on a 9” wheel. 245 and 255 will both work fine but if you can fit it I’d go 255. It’s not like it’s super pinched and muffin topped.
