Default Tire size for 18x8.5 +45?

Wondering if it's a good fit to put 245/40R18 all around on 18x8.5 +45 all around? I know it'll take some rolling and bumper tab relocation. But will it fit on our s2k? Plan to do some track days as well. I use to have a set of rpf1 17x9 +45 all around and didn't rub until I hit a really big bump or full cranked turns. Thanks in advance.

With a fender roll, yes. 245/35/18 is the correct profile though.

Ok. But would 245/40R18 be good to use? They seem to have more selections of tires in that size then 245/35R18.

No they would not. They are to tall and would cause further rubbing issues.

235/40-18 would be a lot better, but still nearly 1/2" taller than stock diameter. 225/40-18 would be closer to stock size.

For sure 17x9 would be a better wheel size for the track...

no bigger than a 245. also, 40 series is gonna look bad. stick to the 35. the reason why there is more choice in 245/40 is because its a less performance oriented size.

Got it. Thanks for the info everyone!! Was gonna get the 18s but found a set of 17s that I really want. Only problem is the rears are 17x10 +50. Fronts are fine. Same specs as my old rpf1. Would I run into any clearance issues on the rear after bumper tab relocation and roll?

17 x 10 +50 should be fine as long as you don't go wider than 255/40.

17x10+50 is actually a really excellent size. wheels that wide are hard to find in 17s with high enough offsets. +1 to the 255. if you roll and a slight pull of your fenders and you have more room- maybe down the line you can try fitting a 265 or a 275.

nice score
