Hi guys,

I did some research here in the 'wheels & tires' part of the forum, but didn't really found the info I need.
I recently bought some BBS LM 18" wheels, in standaard S2k width and et, 8x18 front and 9,5x18 rear.

On Tirerack.com it's proposed to put on 225/40/18 as front tires, and 245/35/18 as rear tires on BBS LM. Now I was wondering if there's some space to put on other tire size.
I'm thinking about :

215/35/18 or 225/35/18 in front (where I would prefer 215/35 if possible and if wheels don't 'fall' to deep in fenders + I think tires will look a bit 'stretched' which I like)

245/35/18 or 255/35/18 in rear (where I would prefer 255/35 if possible)

265 has possible chance of rubbing (according to wheel fitment guide topic) so I rather don't want to put the 265.

Like you see, I want 35 all around as height of my tires. I don't like when tires look to heigh and they give me possibility to lower a little more (KW var3)

Is what I prefer possible? Or not advised?

255/35/18 has a chance of rubbing depending on what brand still, 245 is the safest bet without rolling, depending on how much you are lowered.

more rounded or not as wide contact patch tires will be stretch like any falken tire

tires like a bridgestone S03 will be way less stretched or barely stretched

the correct size will be 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear for the same tire height.

PM me if you need some help or information, its 255 35 because its 35% of 255 and 225 because its 40% of 225 if you think about it like that

I am using 225/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on back. I would say that no one should be using anything but 225/40/18 on the front, and that you would be silly to put anything else on there. Especially 215/35/18. I just put one of those tires on a Civic on Wednesday, and I thought about how ridiculous it looked. There was NO sidewall whatsoever. There is no need to do that to yourself. We can do a 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 with a little fender rolling no problem.
When you're feeling ambitious , that is when you step it up to 265.

I'm just not totally convinced yet about not taking the 215/35/18 for the front. Not that I doubt the knowledge you all have, but just want some more opinions.

I saw a 215/40/18 (Toyo Proxes T1-R) on an 18" (in front) tire last weekend, and I just think the '40' was to much "sidewall" and I don't like that.

Has anybody ever tried a 215/35/18 in front before on an S2k?

 

Have you ever seen how little sidewall there is on a 215/35/18? That should make up your mind there.

 

215/35/18 is the WRONG size, not the correct rolling diameter, and no point in running a 215... NOT THE CORRECT TIRE.

225/40/18
255/35/18

is the closest to OEM in terms of diameter and stagger.
