on the safe side i'd go 215/45 and 235/40. or you can go 225/45 and 245/40 if you want a little more rubber.

You can fit 225 and 255 if you have the fenders rolled. If not a 215 and 245 should fit. I would still roll the fenders just to be safe.

I agree with megaspawn, just run factory size tires, it will look good and you can stay close to UK spec alignment. They wont stick out, just look nice and flush. More aggressive then stock but not stupid looking.

the face of the wheels will be close to flush, maybe just a few millimeters shy. the nice thing about 215/45 front and 235/40 rear is that there is no chance or rubbing and they will have a matching stretch. i've run this combo on the same wheel specs and was very happy with it. you could probably go 245/40 rear with no problem, stretch won't match but overall diameter will still be close.

i personally think that 255 and up is overkill for a DD S2000. the thing only weighs 2,800 pounds and is putting down 200 hp to the wheels on a good day.

I would never recommend running less then factory size tire, that is poor advice sorry to say. 245 in the rear will not rub and will look more proper on that size wheel anyway. 255 in the rear on this set up is totally reasonable as well. No such thing as overkill as far as available sizes you can fit on an s2000. 2800 isn't that light, and for a inherently nervous handling car, the more rubber/grip you can get on the ground the better! Strait line traction is only a small element of what grip does for this car. Remember it needs to turn and stop too?

the OP has an AP1 so factory sizes are 205/225. and yes, 2,800 lbs is a relatively light car. i've run 205/225, 215/235, 225/255, 225/245, and 235 all around. all combos on the street and some at the track. the only setup i don't recommend is 205/225 unless you just commute on the freeway. and if you don't track your car you shouldn't be driving it in a manner where you are losing the back end on public roads anyway. i've run 215/235 at the track and it performed great while pushing the limits of the car(cornering, braking, accelerating). assuming you have decent tires then 215/235 should serve just fine on a DD.

I think you would be quite impressed with what some real size rubber does for this car.
