Default tire sizes for 18x7.5 & 8.5 te37?

I just picked up some te37s not to long ago. Previous owner had them on his s2000 18x7.5 & 8.5 with a 40ish offset I believe (stickers behind the rim are off execept for one of the fronts with is a +40). The rims came with tires but all shot. He was running 235/40 up front and 265/35 in the rear and they were toyo r1r, so im guessing he tracked these rims. I was wondering if its possible to run 275/35 in the rear? I have asm shine rear fenders (not installed yet). And u guys think 235/40 is fine up front? Any other tire combo u think I should run?

Lowered about an inch eibach springs and dont plan to track or dump the car either.

275 seems like overkill on an 8.5. I would think a 22540/18 front and 255/35/18 rear would be more than enough and also the more cost effective route. You will want to roll your fenders with any of these tire setup especially the wider ones.

Thanks manga.

I have asm shine rear over fenders that im about to put on as a winter project. So the rears can come out a bit. Im probably going to roll the front.

I guess but it seems like a waste to cut your quarter panels to fit wheels that are oem widths. These wheels would fit with rolled fenders even with wide tires. If you are going to put the overfenders on you should be doing it to fit some much wider wheels.

Yea I thought about that too. But the volks were such a good deal and the reason im going over fenders is because I have rust so I plan to cut out the rust and over fender them.

Enh I guess. I would resell them if they were that good a deal and put the money towards some better wider wheels to really use those overfenders.

I have the same wheels (diameter and width). I run 225/40 up front and 255/35 in back. There is a little bit of bulge, but nothing bad. I wouldn't go with a wider tire than I already run on them.

Damn... but they are volks..... . Ill run 225/40F and 255/35R and rock them for a bit with asm fenders. Down the road ill probably trade them or if I can find some aggressive 18in te37 being sold as a pair, ill pick them up.
