Default Tires

Hey I am looking for new tires for my 2003 S2000. I have been reading the posts on this forum but I have not been able to find one that answers my question. I do not ride my car aggressively.

I currently have Cooper Zeon Sport tires on my car and I was not very happy with them. I had them installed in April 2008 and they are worn down to about 3/32nd at the lowest point (says Midas) after 2 years - 25K. They work great when the roads are dry and smooth, but the ride is very rough, especially when driving in Manhattan.

I would like to find an all season tire that can hold up in the rain and light snow. One that I can use and not feel every bump in the road. This is my only car and I do not have a place to store winter tires.

I called a few places locally and they recommended the following tires:
TR928 Diamondback
GoodYear Allegra
GoodYear Assurance TripleTred
Cooper CS4 Touring

If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Don't go by what the guys at the tire store recommend. Those tires might be appropriate for a Stanza, not so much for an S2000.

The best all season tire for what you are looking for is the Bridgestone RE960 AS Pole Position. They are a very good handling all season tire with longer wear and excellent wet traction. They currently have a 75.00 mail in rebate on a set of four tires.
If I can help let me know.

i would caution against the triple treds. they seem to be having a lot of problems with early wear and separations/not being round after about two years or 25-35k miles.

my brother sells tires and he has been seeing a lot of unhappy people with the trip treds.

have you noticed any trends Jim?

The Sumitumo HTRZ III's are a very popular tires here in socal for a cheap, reliable, ok at best performing tires. Don't know if they are all season tires though.

I'm using tripl treds on my 96 civic hatch. I'm at the 5 year mark with 60k miles on em. They still have no separation. Getting close to the wear bars though, so this last winter was starting to get scary. But the first 4 years were fantastic. Had all kinds of fun in rain and snow with no fear of dying. ^_^
