Is it the Tires? The Car? or ME!!!!!?
ok so for the past about month and a half i have been running of BALD ALL THE WAY ACROSS bridgestone potenza S03's. the car felt really planted in the dry like the tires had a lot of grip. of course in the wet i thought i was going to die. anyways i had them replaced last week the tires have about 150 miles on them now. and the car just feels very loose. its feels like something is just way out of wack. but i don't see how this could be. i mean it just feels like the car is everywhere. i think it could just be in my head. any ideas?
OK, Here's the deal.
I've got 50K miles on my '02, and we all know how fast the S goes through rear tires. I got 11k off of the stock S02's, then about 9k off of RE730's that I went to after almost dying on the highway in the rain. After that I took all toe out of the rear and got about 15K off the second set of RE730's and about 10K off of the next. I now have RE750's on the rear (harder compound, Z rated, with rain grooves).
As far as front tires go, I got 28,000 off of the stock S02's. This was primarily highway miles and no racing.
EVERY time I put new tires on the car (front or back) it feels REAL lose (less when the fronts were replaced). I think the deal is that the tires need about 1,000 to 2,000 miles to 'harden' up. Trust me, it will be loose for a little while regardless of the tire you put on, but the S02 or S03's should get stiff sooner than others.
Replacing tires on my ex-Integra Type R had the same issues.
My advice is to just be patient.

Your new tires are probaly not broken in yet. Drive another couple hundred miles and you should feel a difference. Just make the new tires in the rear are the correct size - 245/45-16 (assuming stock wheels).
