Default which tires last the longest milage wise

sorry but i've tried searching but i haven't found a thread that addresses my question of which kind of tire last the longest milage wise, well i'm planning to get an s2k but 500+ dollars every 8-10k miles doesn't sound too appealing... so thanks for the help guys

What ever they are, I wouldn't put them on my s2k. and yes OEM tires can wear out in 10k miles, but thats the price you pay for the driving quality of this car. a set of rears will go first. and you will get twice the mileage with the fronts. last time I checked tirerack for BS S-02's [rears] were about $ 375 a set with mounting and balancing.

Why? If you ain't going to push the car hard for mountain twistie or Auto X or Track then you'll be fine. My S-02 had 20K miles before I had to replaced mine. Actually, I got the car at 11K and the tires had about 60% left. The last owner didn't push the car much. My tires were bald and seeing metal part when it hit 20K.

If you want decent tires and just want the S2K to cruise, get some Yokohama ES100. Thought not even close to good tires, they are fairly decent and also good price. There's also other tires that last long with good performance. I'm riding on Good Year F1 GSD-3, suppose to last pretty long and handle pretty good. Ride is comfortable but not the best tires for Track or Auto X.

I rather get the S over the RSX Type S anyday, but that's just me.

You will always compromise performance going with a harder/longer lasting compound. Unfortunately, you can't have both.

A good compromise for me, was BS RE750's. Pretty good traction and decent treadwear. Did well in the rain, also. Either the BS or Kumho MX's will be my next set of tires. I've had Yoko ES100's and was not impressed.

spare tires last the longest, especially when they remain in the trunk or the garage.

rather than get the tires that last the longest, how about getting a decent set that is relatively cheap??? Kumho MX's come to mind.
