i recommended tirerack for your pricing question!!!!!!
so anyway...all I've ever run is SO2's. I think a lot of people will tell you they're best if you don't care about money and wear.
There are so many options. Maybe search too.
I guess that's all I have to say.

Hankook RS2's.
Great price and they have been rated better than the kumhos. I wouldn't bother with anything else other than the Falken Azenis RT-615. Of course, like the other guys said, the tire rack guys know their stuff. They post in the tire forum and answer most of the questions.
I have the Kumho ECSTA MX on my car and don't notice any more than a very slight difference, especially for the price.
I still take the same sharp turns at the same high speeds without feeling like I'm losing grip, and a friend of mine who has the exact same car with these tires has had them over 140 mph and they felt great.
The only difference I've felt is a very slight more tendancy to track. I think this has to do with the grooves the S02's don't have. I'll buy these again next time, since I'm getting WAY more life out of these than my S02's.
I would only go back to the S02's if I were to auto-x.

I'd get the MX's or the RE750's. BUT, most tire experts will recommend you get the same tires on the fronts and the rears. So whatever you have on the fronts, get the same.
And the reason everyone seems aggrivated is, there is a specific forum for every question. If everyone started posting questions in here, it'd get too cluttered. Oops, did I say "if"? I meant, "lately." Follow the rules, and you'll find a much nicer crowd with more than enough good information. Plus, no offense, but you need to grow some thicker skin. If a few key strokes get you riled up, I'd hate to see you in a real confrontation.

Your impatience, lack of people skills, youthful arrogance and immaturity, coupled with your lack of internet protocols and etiquette that has put you into a catagory of "Who gives a flying ratsass".
Actually the replies are right on target. Look in the Tires forum, check out the tires on tirerack.com, and then search for tires you found on tirerack.com. There are multiple threads on every tire imaginable in that forum.
Also since I doubt you'll find it, the correct size for the rear is 245/45/16, not 225/50/16 (unless you get stock S-02s).

All show and no go?
Only S02s for me.
i have a different setup, my 2004 is different than your car, but i can recommend the pirellis as i just got them andthey are awsome, great grip wet or dry, nice feel and quieter than stock bridgestones.
CK, i said ima spend my money on good tires when i get my NEW RIMS cuz i konw ima drive on these tires for less then a year so i dont want to spend 150+ on my stockies. Btw, is that true? 245 on teh stock rims? isn't that too big? cuz they say 255 is pushing it on aftermarket rims that are 9.5 whereas the stocks are 7?
