Default Tires size on 17's

Currently I'm waiting for my TE-37 in 17's to arrive. What should be the perfect set up for the 17's?
I heard some people said F 215/45R17 & R 245/40R17 or
F 225/45R17 & R 245/40R17

Which set up is better?

btw: my tires choice will be Kumho MX

I like the 225/45R17 and 245/40R17 but I don't know the offset and width of the wheels.

this is what i'm running, on bfg gforce t/a kd, and despite what everyone says about the "proper" ratio of front to rear tread width, so far the handling is far more predictable and the snap oversteer is not worsened. i've taken some scaled pictures of the tread of the stock tires and the gforces, and i don't really agree with the published "tread widths" for these two tires. (taking into account the rain grooves)

i went 245/40 in the rear because i didn't want a slightly larger than stock o.d., and wanted to keep the weight / moment of the wheel as low as possible.

the published figures on tirerack, fwiw, are 6.9 / 7.9 for the gforces and 7.1 / 8.5 for the stock tires. (14.5% stagger vs 19.7% stagger). losing 7% of the tread width in the rear sounds bad, but so far i am very pleased. no loss of grip, greater predictability at the limits (i.e. they start squealing BEFORE the car slips) and a smoother, quieter ride in general.
