Default Tires suggestions

Hi,

Considering doing the following. MY04 S is just a simple DD, no track anymore (had to sell that S)...No mods, everything stock but a single ASM single 70mm exhaust and LOWERED on SWIFT springs (about an inch).

Wheels are 949 wheels
http://949racing.com/6ULR-wheels.aspx

17x9 +48 front:
245/45
or 255/45 (will consider 40 if needed).

17x10 +52 rear:
275/40
or 285/40

I'm debating between these STREET tires:

-Continental DW
-Firestone Firehawk wide oval 500
-Sumimoto HTR ZIII
-Yokohama S-drive
-Khumo Ecsta SPT

The cheaper, the better of course I use to race on Dunlop DIrezza ZR1 but I want to make sure I'll have tires that will LAST me a while on the Streets. UK specs alignment.

Thanks!

Are you going to roll the fender lips and make these fit? The rear alone is going to stick out about 2" more than stock. With the wheel sizes I would go with the 245/40R17 and 275/40R17. It is not the best set up but would work the best with the wheels. I would look at the Sumitomo HTRZ III at 118.00 front and 132.00 rear.
If I can help just let me know.

Fenders are already rolled so no problems on that side
In your opinion Jim, what would be the best set-up ?

Much appreciated!

If you don't track anymore, why do you need such wide wheels and tires? And I agree, that is going to be very aggressive fitment, especially with > 265 in the rear.

I agree with this guy Ben!

No point running such a wide setup, and putting non-race rubber on race wheels seems counterintuitive to me too. I think with UK spec the rear is going to poke a lot with just the swift springs

Got it and yes it does make sense now that S will not see the track.

I guess, I'll trade my 17x10 in the back for 17x9 and do 225 or 235/255. That should work? (I already have someone willing to trade).

Cheers
