Default Tires on a used MY04..."General"

I'm looking at a used MY04 S2000 with new tires. They are "General". Anybody ever heard of these because I haven't but I don't buy tires often either. Are these any good or just some junk they put on to say it has new tires??? Thanks

depending how you plan on driving your S, I wouldn't get to aggressive with those General tires. I had a set of performance tires on a prior car and they really sucked in the rain.

General is the same parent company as Continental. It's more a function of what MODEL of Generals you have.

Owned by Continental now, primarlily makes lower grade performance and regular sedan tires. Check the sidewall for model number and speed rating. They do manufacturer a high performance tire. Check TireRack site for info about the tires on your car. At some point when you can afford it, spec out some more appropriate alternatives.

Follow the advice and take it easy with these tires.

My buddy just bought a set of Generals for his 2.5rs. They were pretty inexpensive, and thats why he bought them.

As you negotiate the middle of a corner in the rain (in my case rain happens alot) think to yourself " I bought the cheapest tires I could get" and be comforted by that decision. It would be a good idea to research tire rack etc for specs and then decide on what tire will suit your driving style.

The model is the Exclaim UHP which is there Ultra High Performance tire.....I did read some reviews on tirerack and the response to that tire was ok.....it was rated a little higher then I thought it would be.....I guess they are fine to start out with.

honestly ive only heard great things about that tire. its very popular on e90post and m3forum.

that being said, ive never been on them and still not sure if i can trust them.

theyre probably just as good as fk452, htrzIII, or other "cheaper" performance tires.

Sooner or later, you'll own Generals! Sorry, I'm a media slave.
