Default TPMS question for Jim

I would like to install a winter wheel/tire combo on my new Civic. How do I handle the TPMS? Can it be switched off, or does the wheel/tire set I order from you need to have the TPMS pre-installed?
Thanks

Read this link, particularily posts #11, #25, #50: https://www.s2ki.com/.../page__hl__tpms

I also followed RyllisPro's recommendations on the forum and it worked great. I purchased Redi Sensors and the ATEQ reset tool and it works like a charm.
