Default TPMS Sensor Replacement

Honda started using a direct sensor TPMS for the 2008/2009 S2000s as I understand it. Last set of new tires, Costco added a service pack TPMS to the order and everything has been fine. It is almost time for new tires and I wonder if I should replace all four sensors. Big price difference between OEM Honda parts online and Rock Auto Denso OEM sensors. Rock Auto is $42 vs Honda Online Parts for $122. I was looking at the Denso, last of the 3 for Rock Auto.

Anybody have experience with these replacements? Recommendations?

I would not hesitate with the Densos! They're OEM for a reason

Five bucks ($5). Five bucks ($5).
We're not hauling nuclear warheads.

it will likley be an unpopular opinion, but i personally would buy a set of the Autel and a tool for not much more than those Densos and less than oem. I like to own tools tho.

No but we are hauling ourselves. I am used to driving cars without any sensors but the feel of the road through the tires and handling. That being said, when the rear tire of my S began to fail, the monitor alerted me to stop driving 80 on the freeway and check it out. I did so just before, IMO the tire would have gone to pieces and caused some real issues. Glad I had those 20 seconds of warning before handling did become serious.

But thanks for the input.

I checked with Costco as they will likely fit me with new Michelins (must go to larger tires-thanks rrounds for the info)
They have their own sensors and will not use any that you bring in yourself.
No idea what they use.

Correct. Costco will only use their sensors, which is a bit annoying because I would opt for the cheapest possible sensor that man has ever made.

I would also opt to not replace them until they actually fail. Why do this preemptively?

Because I have a giant yellow TPMS light on when I drive.

A small piece of black electrical tape fixes that easily.
