Default Volk center caps install question

I was checking the leftover parts bag this morning and noticed that in addition to the OEM lug nuts there are 4 rubber O rings which came with the Volk center caps. So I checked to see if the caps were secure and they're really not. I could pull all four off with minimal effort.

I then tried placing one of the rings on the cap and putting it on but can't seem to get it on. Are these rings supposed to be on the caps? If so, do you just start one side and beat them on with a rubber mallet or something?

The only instructions that came with the center caps are in Japanese unfortunately.

Thanks.

Mine had o-rings. And my installer used a rubber mallet to get them on. He also applied some grease to the o-rings.

Thanks. Do you remember seeing two sets of O rings already on the caps as well as the third which is separate?

Here's a picture of the cap and the third ring:

With just the two rings I can put the cap on and remove it with minimal effort. If I add the third I can't get them on at all, even with a rubber mallet.

Are there different caps for different Volk wheels or am I missing something here? Anybody?

I don't know if this is the answer, but it's an answer.

I removed the front O ring that sits in the collar and replaced it with the third ring which is slightly larger. I then put a light coat of lithium grease on both the rings and the lip on the inside of the wheel opening. I started one side into the wheel and then gave the other side a moderate pop with the heel of my hand.

The cap popped in nice and snug and would either have to be pried off from the front or knocked off from the back. I'm guessing there must be different size lips on different wheels.

Another case of desperation breeding inspiration I suppose. Thanks for the replies and to Steve for your input.

No problem. The trick was replacing the original with the larger. Now it's all good.

Does anyone know where I can get thicker O rings? Mine didn't come with a thicker one.
