volk vs racing hart?
I love volks, but they are becoming played out like JS has already stated. They make some nice wheels, but I see them everwheres on everything from cavaliers/sunfires to NSX's and so on. I like fairly exclusive wheels, and Volks used to be fairly exclusive. Nowadays it seems as every second modded car are rolling on TE, LE and CE's.
There are just as nice looking, just a strong, and equal quality wheels out there for the same money as compared to a set of Volks, that you see less of on the road today that interest me moreso than volks do.

Ok, I ordered the Volks. I wanted to make sure that what I got was really strong. I don't want to worry about denting up soft rims. I got black 18" LE28N's with polished lips. They should be here in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, answer me this. It was recommended to go 255/35 on the rear, and 225/40 on the front. Why the difference? Could'nt I go 40 or 35 on all 4? Will there be a visual difference between the 2?
I just bought a used MY04 S2000 and I am in the market for some new wheels. My old ones are scuffed up pretty bad.
Beside Volk, does Racing Hart have the "ideal" size and offset? From what I been reading, S2000 has really high offset which is pretty hard to find some new wheels. What about works? 17 inch? My priorty is quality, weight, fitment, design, and finish. Exclusive or not is not important to me, alot of people running them must means they are worthy to buy.
I read that the TE37 and CE28N are both forged and really light. Anything out there that are lighter and just as strong?
Thanks if you have have any inputs!!

the te37 will have same lip regardless of offset (u cant go low enuff of an offset, to get the bigger lip)
and the CR do have a forged hoop.. as well as the C4
the RH evo and RH pro (j8/j5) are fully cast
which ever u like better is what id go w/ (dont forget limited edition CR's in RBC, RAYS BLACK CHROME)
anywho... pick what u like.. but the te37 are 1 peice so lip doesnt depend on offset as much.

You have to realize that just because they are forged doesnt mean they are a better wheel. We had the RnD from Enkei come out and explain the whole Matte Forging process on their line of wheels and went over everything. But bottom is not all forged wheels are the best thing out there.
For your question. Volks are a dime a dozen. They make "ideal" offsets for the S2000. Thats all good and most people like that. I and many others on the other hand want something different something that will look just as good if not better, have the reputation, etc.
I have always like the Work line of wheels and the Weds Sports line. Both have their ups and downs.
Anyway I would only go with one type of Volk wheels and that would be the mag. blue TE37s in 17 inch with a BBK application other than that I would go with an entirely different wheel.
Good luck.

I loved my mag blue te-37... it'll look blackish blue at moments, and blue at other moments. i might be getting another set for the s2k.
you can rub 255/35/18 rear in certain brands like toyo t1s...they are more narrow...but when i swtiched to yokohama es100 on my le28...they rubbed liek crazy and ended up chipping the paint off my rear panel around the fender well...bottom line is...volk offsets, at +50 front and +47 rear were hard to drive on...but when i had toyo t1s, rubbing wasnt really a problem...GL
