Weird Handling After Tire Change
32psi cold.
The coilovers are compression and rebound adjustable. Compression is 3 clicks from full stiff all around. Rebound is 5 from full stiff up front and 9 from full stiff in back. This set up was working great before the tires and alignment.
Yeah, definitely hard to pin point, but I can say that the drop was very modest. I dropped it less than a 1/4" lower than the height that it was performing well on.
Thanks for the replies. I'll take it easy for a few hundreds miles or so.
there is definitely a break in period for tires. in fact, serious track guys will shave down the first few mm to get to the good stuff. star specs are very reputable tires so i doubt they are the problem. are there damper stiffness adjustments on your coilovers? might play with that a little bit as well. go stiff in the front and slightly softer in the rear. and, as mentioned, tire pressure is key as well.
It's somewhat counter-intuitive but lowering your car can sometimes increase body roll, the roll center could move higher depending on how low you went. You definately introduced a lot of variables with tread depth, tire compound, ride height and alignment. Take it easy for a few hundred miles.

I got another alignment done, but this time I aligned it to CR specs.
Wonky toe settings can change feel tremendously.
Also worth checking: The fronts are still mounted up front and the rears in back, right? Make sure all the wheels are flush with the hubs at the mating surface. It's possible they might have mounted a 215 on a rear wheel and a 245 on a front, but you can't fit a rear wheel up front because the center bore is too small, it won't sit flush. That would be bad...
Sure, here they are. I think I can feel an increase in grip, but its just that I don't like how the car feels coming out of a turn.

There is a break in period on tires. You don't have to do anything special to break them in but you do need to wear off the release compound. 300 to 400 miles will be fine. If it is track work like others have said shaving the tires will make you faster.

I recently installed a set of KW V3’s, and got a standard S2000 alignment.

.25 degrees per side, .5 deg total is, IMO, a lot. My '01 handled like crap with barely more than that (0.64deg total).
You might try something like 0.2deg total rear toe and see what you think. The other settings look good, you might see if they'll cut you a deal on only reducing the rear toe rather than a full alignment.
