The question is a good one. Yes it will work, but the car won't have the same driving characteristics. The rear tire should be at least as wide as it would be stock, or 245. Putting a 245 on a 7.5 inch wide wheel isn't the best either. Check out tirerack, they have a nice selection of staggered wheels and easy to read specs on each of them.

I have a 215 on a 7.5 front wheel and a 255 on a 8.5 rear wheel. The car still can be a handfull positive throttled.

it is okay to have non-staggered rims... but I have never heard of anything doing 7.5" all around. Usually 8", 8.5, 9" are the norms. On the 8" you will want about a +50, on the 9" about a +60.

It's when you get OFF the throttle that the trouble really begins!

Seriously, 240hp in a 2800 lb. car isn't a big deal. It's when the uninitiated feel the back end *start* to get loose and jump off the gas that they spin it into the ditch/curb/whatever.

Your right. I wasn't saying it was a big deal though. I was just saying that with good tires it still can break them loose. And with a 7.5 all the way around you aren't going to have enough traction.
