Default What size is right or wrong.

On m 2000 S2000, my tire set up is 18 inch tires with 225/45/18 all around. Is there a problem with that. The reason why I'm asking is because I just came from the Honda dealer and this mechanic said that to get the right performance and handling of the car I should go back to the stock size. They mentioned to go back down to 17 inch, but the stock ones are 16 inch, aren't they. Is there any particualr set up better then another. I just do normal driving, no racing. I think they also mentioned that my profile should be different from front to back tires, they shouldn't be the same size tires all around the car.

Too me I think there totally retarded. Please help me out.
THX.

no they are right you are suppose to have a staggered tire setup such as wider in rear than front and yes stock for ap1 is the 16 inch wheels.....also if you don't do any aggresive driving than you are fine with what you have but many would not recommend it.....

If you want 18s, you should go with 225/40 and 255/35

So the profile can be the same as the front. What would you recommend. I am not going to change my 18" rims. What tire size set up.

255/35 at the rear and 225/40 for the front. Why would I go to a lower profile for the rear.

This keeps stock rolling diameter, and since the stock suspension was designed for it, it is the best combination.

So it's fine to stay with the 18's and go with the above sizes. With my set up though it shouldn't affect anything though, right.

depending on the offset of the wheels, if you decide to drop it one day you might rub.....

It's already dropped on H&R springs and absolutely no rubbing.

If you mean affect anything as in make your handling better yes it will.

What are the offsets of your rims? There is a good chance running 225 front and back that your rims are the same size and may not have optimal offsets for an S2000. Need to know offsets to advise if the wider tires will rub on your fenders
