Default What tire size for Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3?

Anybody have these tires on AP2 stock rims?

I'm in need of new tires and want to know which size I should get. I was originally going to get the stock sizes but I am unsure as to how it will change the handling. I am coming from the stock RE050's. These tires will be for daily driving.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

ag

i got 215/45/17 and 255/40/17, the handling is very similar to the oem tires, these are great tires i recommend them

so the 255/40/17 is the recommended rear tire size for this tire? Is that because the tread width of the goodyear is generally smaller than the bridgestone when comparing the same tire sizes?

The last thing I want to do is to increase the tendancy to oversteer. So I am in favor of this setup if it works well.

More that the OEM RE050MZ is real narrow for a 215 and stamps more like a 255 instead of a 245.

I am moving to the setup recommended above when I have to next change tires.

Actually the issue has nothing to do with the rear tires. The front oem RE050 215/45/17 tires are narrow for a 215 and have a tread width similar to a 205. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=449093

Using a non-oem 215 is actually a step up and so many people step up the rear to a 255 at the same time to maintain the stock stagger.

Also make sure not to mix tire brands/models in the front and rear.

note that the rear tire is also oversized. it leaves a bigger foot print than a lot of 255's. they have a 9" tread width.

those goodyears have a tread width of 8.7 in the back in 255. and a tread width of 8.3 in 245.

i went tire shopping yesterday also, and bridgstone shows two re050's. one has a "mod" next to it, and the guy explained that it means it's a factory tire but doesnt specify which car.

well, that tire had a tread width of 9", where the regular re050 had a tread width of 8.7".

thanks for the responses. I will go with 215/45/17 and 255/40/17.

Have any of you auto'xd or tracked this setup?
