Default what tire size should I go with

I brought a set of new rims for my 02 s2k and I wanted to know what size tires can I use without having to roll my fenders....

Rim sizes: front 18x8 w/+38offset and rear 18x9 w/+38offset I checked on tire rack and they tell me to go with 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear... now some members on this forum have told me that itll rub front nd rear and that I should go with 215/40/18front and 245/35/18rear...

Which set do I go with???

Either set up will rub because your offsets are half what stock is. You will need to roll your fenders no matter what. The offset of the wheels is the biggest determiner of weather you will need to roll your fenders or not. Your wheels are wider than stock and half the offset of stock so you will need to roll your fenders.

To answer you tire question do the first option since you will have roll you fenders either way.

are you at stock ride height? Or are you lowered.

You should be fine either way with a 215 in the front. Rear You're definitely going to have to roll and modify the bumper tab if you're low. if you do that, I would run the 245s then. If you take your time (or pay a shop) there will be no damage done to the car

You should be fine on springs then. My sig picture is a 215 on a 8" wide wheel. 245 on a 9 is pretty normal, it would probably stretch a bit if you went down to a 235 tire for the rear, but then it would be impossible to match tire heights .
I have 215/45 front and 235/40 rear and it looks stupid because the tire sidewalls are different

245 will be fine on the 9 inch wide wheel

My rears in this pic were 17x9 with a 245 tire on the rear.

You should roll the fenders before you get the wheels. There is less chance of damage in stock suspension but the wheel still has enough travel that it can grab the fender if compressed right. Trust me I have seen people mess up their fenders because of this and once they are messed up you need a body shop and repaint instead of just a simple fender roll.
