Default whats a good track tire?

I'm thinking about putting some decent track tires on my old ap1 wheels and use them only for the track. Whats a good brand, with a good price?

i currently have 18'' volks with falken fk452's (300 treadwear!) for my daily drivers. i can imagine how bad they'd suck on the track.

If you are looking for a street tire for the track I would go with the Bridgestone RE-01R. They are as close to a true R compound in a street tire out on the market.
If you go to the R compound I would go with the new BF Goodrich in the 205/55R16 and 245/45R16 rear. We have tested them head to head against the Hoosiers and they are a more consistant tire lap after lap and they will wear better as well.
If I can help let me know.

I just bought the RE-01R from Tirerack for my AP1 wheels just for the autox/track. Will be testing it out at the track this Dec. In person, the tires look great and on the street feel very sticky.
