Default wheel offset question

[SIZE=1]Sup,
I had a couple questions i have been searching but havent really found out what i needed to know. I have been looking at different wheels and offsets for an S2K and i saw a pic of of a members car off the site (rijowysock) and i was wondering what wheel offset i would need to get to achieve that look for a staggered set of wheels? I have been reading here that +68 is a offset alot of guys get but ive always though when your thinking off a big lip and wide wheels you go lower like a +15 offset? I dont really want huge rims as far as 18's but i do want that big lip and pretty much same setup with a different set of wheels. I am also wondering i would need spacers to get that look as the member i mentioned and, i am pretty sure rolling the fenders is a must. Any info would be appreciated and if anyone is confused on what i am asking ill post pics i just didnt want to take anyones pics out of there sigs for examples thanx alot peace.

You can get a huge lip if you want your wheels to stick out and look funky with all sorts of crazy negative camber.

Sup,
Well i just got my PM from him and i was under the impression that offset was offset regardless of the car. He told me he runs +43 in the rear and +42 is a basic offset for my hatch. I understand now and didnt realize theres a difference thanx alot for the help peace.

1st............every car manufacturer makes the specifications of their cars different..........that's why wheel manufacturers make wheels with different offsets. Allowing them the flexability to sell wheels for various types of cars, and in various sizes

Example: Just because a wheel has the same bolt pattern.....that does not necessarily mean that the same wheel will fit equally well on any car that you might be able to bolt it to.

The comment that you made above regarding the "Wide Lip Look" generally having a low / lower offset is correct. The problem with offsets that are too low is that the outside edge of the wheel and tire (once mounted) can stick out past the outside of the fender on an S2000.

This is a common problem because the S2000 has been designed by Honda to typically run very high offsets.......as compared to other vehicles.......this (higher offset design) is what has lead to such a number of poor-fitting wheels.......rubbing.......and the result of many members / owners purchasing wheels and then having to roll their fenders.

When you look at the diagram below....think of "offset" in terms of how far in-board or out-board the wheel will be once it is bolted to the car (hub).......

See if this helps you to understand:
