Default Wheel options in the US

I hope this is the right place for this question. I have a 2002 AP1. When I bought it (used from a dealer - it was his car) it had non-stock wheels on it - Konig 18x9 (I think) with 215's on the front and 265's on the rear. The rears fit pretty well but the wheels seem too wide for the fronts. And I think the offsets are wrong so I get a little rubbing in the rear.

At this point I am looking for new tires and it seems like time to address the wheel issue. I am interested in going back to stock wheels but I am not fond of the look of the 16" that came on the car originally. So, my questions are:
(1) could I put the 2007 wheels/tires on a 2002?
(2) What other options might I have? I have looked a lot online but it seems that staggered wheels are a little hard to find in the right sizes. I don't race and IO am not interested in spending an exorbitant amount on this exchange.

1- yes
2- Go with a 17" wheel, there is a greater selection of tires for them over the 16".
Oh...welcome to the site.

1) Yes
2) Honestly, 17" OEM AP2 stock wheels (any year 04-09) will probably be your best option. They are fairly easy to find, fit perfectly, and look great on a stock car. You can also browse Tirerack, they only show conservative fitments similar to stock.

I'm partial to the 08-09 wheel on an AP1.

Welecome. Please spend some time searching and reading there is more info than you could ever want on this subject.

Quick answer is OEM AP2 wheels. Look locally for some with decent tires or for ones without tires. As for aftermarket, the Enkei PF01 comes in near OEM ap2 sizing so thats a good option and they are high quality and I believe a set is around $1k new.

Just to pile on, another tip: Search on this site can be a bit wonky. Google's search algorithms are really good at finding exactly what you're looking for, so use Google to do your searches. Just add site:s2ki.com to any query and you'll get results from S2KI.

Thanks for all the great thoughts. (I especially liked the photo of the Blue AP1 - much like mine!) My plan now is to go with either of the AP2 wheels. Now to find them...

Thanks again. I found a set of '04 wheels and they are on the way! I should have them on in a couple of weeks.
