Default Wheel Paint Question

Hey guys, pretty simple question here. I have 18" Volk Gt-N's. They are gunmetal w/ a polished lip. I soon will have swapped out my black interior, for tan/black, and am wanting to paint my wheels gold to go with the tan. These wheels are 2-pieces, so im thinking of seperating them, painting the center of the wheels with maybe Dupli-color high temp wheel paint, or something similar, putting them back together, and getting the wheels rebalanced. Does anyone see any problems or difficulites with that? Any info would be appreciated. Also, what is the best brand of paint? Thanks a bunch.

Separating them and putting them back together seems risky. How do you know that you'll be able to get them back together under factory specs?

As far as the paint goes - I'd go with powdercoat or anodized, not high temp paint.
