Is there a write-up somewhere on how to paint wheels? Ive gathered you clean, prime, maybe wetsand, paint, wet sand, clear coat.

But I am interested in specific materials, brands, processes, etc.

Rims are best done by powdercoating. Have a pro sandblast 'em and p. coat 'em.

 

Are there limiations on powder coating? I was thinking of doing the lip a different color from the main part of the wheel. I guess I need to find a good powdercoater. My last guy decided to close down his garage PC'ing business and go back to college

 

i have no problem painting mine. i scuff them with a 3m red pad. and paint and clear them with duplicolor wheel coating.

 

I figure I can try painting and if it sucks then powder coat.

Can anyone explain how and at which step(s) I need to wet sand?

i just scuff with a 3m scuff pad. and paint with wheel paint.

 

idk ima have a set soon ima just sandblast and paint every week

PC is too strong for me since ima redo em weekly diff colors from hard hat orange to baby shit green
