Default wheel tire size

Just got a 02 suzuka blue, it has ap2v1's on it with dunlop direzza tires which I think are the stock size (I can go check if it's necessary to answer the question). The car is also lowered 1inch. Anyways to my question. I found a set of gold rota torque rims that are 17x8. Can I take my tires off the ap2v1's and put them on the rota's if I decide to pick them up, and will they fit even if the rota's are a little bit wider rim? I appreciate any advice, this whole offset/tire/size/rimsize etc is a bit confusing to me.

Thanks!

short answer yes it will work. long answer thats narrower than stock in the rear, your moving backwards. there are several approved rim widths per tire size, you have lots of options i would research on here or tirerack or somthing. Or just do it now and learn afterwards if you cant wait.

If the tires I have now are stock tires (sizing wise), how will it be narrower than stock if it is stock? Or am I misreading it

Okay so my front tires are 225/45R17 90W and the rear tires are 245/40R17 91W. Will these fit sort of like stock on Rota Torque 17x8 rims (front and back)? Thanks!

The rims are narrower not by too much though stock ap2 wheels are 7F 8.5R but yeah it will fit like close to stock. Go for it and post pics when done!

Personally I wouldn't waste the money on those. I would just stick with the oem ap2 wheels and look for better widths. If you are swapping over the tires also it really won't provide any benefit over the oem except maybe a tiny bit of traction loss in the rear and a tiny increase in the front.
