Default Wheel and Tire spec confirmation

Hi guys,

I am going to buy new wheels and tires for my stock AP1 to participate a track day.

I will change brake rotors and pads, but I don't want other modifications like fender roll.

I searched several posting in this forum and finally I decided the following combinations. Please confirm my choice.

Front
Enkei RPF1 17' 7J+45 5×114.3
Bridgestone re71r 215 45R 17

Rear
Enkei RPF1 17' 8J+45 5×114.3
Bridgestone re71r 245 40R 17

Wheel lug nuts
Mutekei Super Tuner Open-Ended Lug Nuts 12x1.50mm

Is it OK without rubbing?
Do I need a hub ring for installation of wheels?

Thank you.

Those wheels and tires will fit without modification.

However, you're leaving some room on the table for a better setup. Idk if you're interested in suggestions, though.

Correct on the lug nuts.

Hub centering rings only help to center the wheel for installation. I would opt to leave them off your list OR buy metal ones if you do want to use them. Plastic will melt.

Good luck on your track day.

Thank you for your perfect answer!
By the way, what does "leaving some room on the table" mean?

Don't forget you can get new 17" reproduction AP2V1 wheels of the proper offset and rim width (OEM rear is 8.5" not 8"). These will bolt on using your existing lug nuts with absolutely no concerns. You can also fit 255 rear tires better on the wider rim or go 225 front 255 rear.

My car came with ENkei PF01s. 8 inch wide up front, 9 inch in the rear. They come with offsets that work better with the S2000 that the RPF1 is not available in. Personally id go with the PF01 only for the reason that you can get a 9 inch width in the back in a nice offset.

In case you cant see, 60 offset in the back, 50 in the front.

Correct. There are less offset options for RPF1. So I was thinking a lot which one to buy.
Anyway, I chose a RPF1 because it was cheaper and lighter.

I mean that you can go wider. The wheel width you've chosen are narrower than AP2 stock spec (rear).

There's a whole lot of discussion regarding staggered vs un-staggered.

If you want staggered, I would have done at least a 8" front wheel and 9" rear. You can buy "no rub" offsets. And at least 225mm front tyres. 255mm rear.

Personally, I like having a non-staggerred setup. I would have done at least a 9" wheel all around with 255mm tyres.

I think you're going to out-grow the setup you've chosen very quickly. I don't know how much track experience you already have...

I totally agree with you.
But I decided the wheel as RPF1 first, I have no option to choose a wider wheel due to the limitaion of offset.
Currently, I am using AP1 stock wheel and tire and therefore I think the difference is quite a huge to me.
I have several times of track experience with FF car. This is the first time with s2000.
Thank you for your opinion.
