Wheel/Tire upgrade
Jim,
My son is upgrading his 97 base Integra and I am buying the tires and wheels. It has the base LS 14 inch wheels now and we want to go to 16 inch wheels. He likes the look of the Mille Miglia MM112 wheels in 16" and he is looking at the Bridgestone Potenza RE750s for the tires.
We want to maintain the final drive ratio so as to not lose any performance especially stop light to stop light.
If you could give me your opinion as to this combination, or suggest something else in the same price range, I'd appreciate it. Please give me your recommendation for performance tires in the correct size to maintain final drive ratio.
Thanks much, David

The wheels are in stock at 119.00 per wheel. The tire size to run woudl be 205/45R16 and this would keep the rolling diameter the same as the OE tires. It would not change the speedometer or odometer from OE. The RE750 is not currently in stock in that size. It would be a very good option but it will be about 4 weeks before we seee this size.
Give me a call if I can help wth the wheel and tires.
Thank you

I am running the Goodyear Eagle F1's GS-D3's and they so far are great and the more miles I put on them the better I like them. They give lots of grip, the car doesn't squeal them like it did the stock Michelins, be it on take off or going around a corner. I have them on a 2002 RSXtypeS.

Jim,
We're also putting on a turbo, so I want as much rubber on the ground as possible to keep him as safe as possible. I know it would affect the speedo reading, but would something like the 225/50R16 92W work? I know I have to keep the rubber inside the fenders, but the BS/FS web site says this size is available now. Is this a feasible combination? Thanks!
hmmm... ~100 dollars? I'm not sure. It's tough to find a nice, inexpensive forged wheel for that kind of money. I'm sure Jim would have a better idea than I would. All my suggestions would be roughly twice that amount.
Forged 16" wheels at a $100 you will need to look for used used wheels. I put Kosei Racing K-1's on the RSX and the 17" X 7.5" weighed 16 pounds, with the EAGLE F1's the combo came to 38# each. Stock tires and rims weighed between 37 and 39 pounds. But even this which I considered an economy set up was $1260.00 with shipping. Some of the lowest priced forged wheels I have found were CenterLine Wheels but they were 300 each and weighed 13.5# for a 17" X 7" wheel.
