Default Wheels and Tires

Hey Guys,

Need your advice! I picked up a black on black MY07 and would like your thoughts on these wheels & tires set-up.

Posted is the wheels on the S2000...do you guys have any idea which Volk wheels these are? The dealership didn't know and I'm trying to find it online to see the reviews on these guys.

The tires are 18 inch Nankang Ultra Sports - a quick google search shows that these tires are not the greatest and they have a poor reputation. Any suggestions on tire replacements? This vehicle is mainly for weekend/summer use as I have my 4Runner as my DD...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Volk GT-N.

What tire size is currently on them? Any other wheel specs - width, offset, etc?

It's 18 inch wheels and tires... The tires are:

Front- 215/35R18
Rear - 235/35R18

You still didn't answer the full question. Wheel width and offset are what is important. 235 is an odd rear tire size and that front looks tiny as well. You are right about nangkang being junk but we can't really give you suggestions on tire size if we don't know the wheel width and offset.

Unfortunately , the previous owner doesn't know the wheel specs. Any way I can figure that out on my own? I guess I would just have to measure it myself then hey?

If you are lucky there are stickers with all the specs on the inner barrels. If there aren't any stickers, the offset is usually stamped into the back of the wheel hub.

We can tell you that the front tire is undersized diameter and makes the wheel gap look even worse. You will want to go with 215/40 next time or even 225/40 for a little more width. 245/35 will probably be your best bet for rear tire, might be able to 255/35 if the wheel width will allow.

Also depending on offset the fenders look untouched. This is probably why the tires are undersized. Do as Nate said a take a front and rear wheel off. The specs should be stamped on the inside of the center area. Most Volks have stickers on the barrels though. If it has a normal stagger you want 215/40/18 or 225/40/18 fronts and 245/35/18 or 255/35/18 for the rear. Depending on the offset you may need to roll the fenders.

Honestly, I would look at getting wheel replacements as well. Stock would look better than these, IMO. You could get a set of AP2 wheels with decent tires for $700 or so.
