Wheels, tires, weight, MOI and potholes????
I 've been reading through some of the threads on these various subjects as I'd like to get as well educated as possible before spending $3k on a new setup.
Obviously I am looking for the best performance increase I can acheive for my money on a daily driver with the extra advantage of some cosmetic improvements too.
I was thinking of 17" rims with rubber of front 225/45 and rear 245/40 to get a good compromise between tirewall trade off for contact patch accelleration and a little extra stiffness for handling.
MOI seems to be a big factor so I would like to know which tires would be the wisest choice regarding weight for my type of usage.
I think I'd like to get 17" rims in the realm of 14lbs.
What type of offset is generally regarded as the optimum setting for these sizings.
Also would there be any real advantage of going to 18" on the rear for use with the 245 tire width at a 35 or 30 tire wall?????
Lots of questions - makes my head hurt before it makes my wallet hurt.
