Default When to replace summer tires?

At what measurement should high performance summer tires be replaced?

I have some RE-01r's now and I am getting ready to get new, but I don't want to throw out tires with good wear--or even worse drive on potentially dangerous tires.

I am just wondering if there is a certain wear period where dry grip performance becomes poor.

If you're only worried about dry grip, run them to the cords. You typically won't heat cycle tires on the street.

If you plan on driving at all in the wet, I'd recommend replacing as soon as you get down to the wear bars. That's what they're there for.

Good to know! I may go for my first track day soon--unsure if I want to risk running on these tires or just getting new... I would be bummed to have crummy tires on my first track day
