Default Why does it look different?

Hey guys I just recently replaced the 16" oem wheels with some 17x7.5+50/17x9+63 wheels, im lowered on bilstein pss9's. I loved the stance with the 16" rims it was perfect, I initially thought the 17" wheels would make the car look a bit lower but it was the opposite it actually made the car appear a bit higher than the 16" wheels but I dont think it actually raised it because im still a solid 1 finger gap all the way through. my question is why does it appear that way? is it because im running a wider wheel? should I try to get a realignment and run some camber? or should I lower the car alittle more?

-Thanks

Most likely just your perspective given the lower tire profiles. It was the same for me when I upped to 17s. Out of curiosity, what are your tire specs?

225/??/15 and 255/??/17

I think modMonkey was probably interested primarily in the aspect ratio

Your profiles look right. It's just perspective. Alignment and camber, while important in it's own right, wont do too much for the way it looks

What was the complete sizing of your 16" tires?

Moving to the 17" rim would raise your car around 1/2" (since the radius of your rim changed 1/2") assuming your sidewalls were the same height as your 16's. Most likely your 17" tires have a slightly larger sidewall height, thus raising your car a bit more off the ground.

my sizing of the 16" tires are 205/50/16 and 225/55/16 im probably just gonna try and lower it a little more and see how that looks.

If you have a model 2005, aren't your OEM wheels already 17"?
