Why don't OEM black valve stem covers cover all the thread?
Several people, including me, have noticed that the black valve stem covers that came with my S2000 don't cover all the gold threads on the stem. It looks awful. Is this common?? Can I get different black covers that will screw all the way down to the black stem thus hiding the gold threads?? I have never seen this before on my other cars.
I searched the Library and threads to no avail.
Thanks for any input.

Hey Ernie, glad I'm not your wife
Go spend .99 for a set at any auto parts store. Alternately, you could use a Sharpie to paint the brass black. Or just do what I do (and I know this might really upset you): Don't wash the car; the dirt will cover the miscoloration in no time.

jscmidt..This is how my wife feels about me
How did you know??
I have never had valve stem covers that didn't fit all the way. Just seemed weird. I have found in the past that having some of the threads exposed increases the loss of air in the tires.
I guess I will try some other types. That ought ot keep me busy tonight!!
Thanks for the laugh today....
