Why in the hell is my wheel rubbing?
I have the following wheel/tire/suspension setup:
Wheels: LE28Ns, 17X7.5 +50, 17X9 +63
Tires: RT615s, 225/45R-17, 255/40R-17
Suspension: Ground Control coilovers with Koni Yellows, 375/325 spring rate (I believe)
Alignment: About -2.5 camber front and -3.5 camber rear
Ride height: about two finger gap all around (something like 26" from ground to center of wheel fender)
There is a BAD rubbing issue with the passenger side front wheel/tire--the fender has been cutting "wedges" out of the tire!
A few weeks back I had a new alignment done and I thought the increased negative camber would have eliminated the rubbing issue, but that hasn't been the case. I don't understand why this is happening--my car isn't "slammed", the tires aren't too wide, the wheel offsets are supposed to be ideal, and I have a fairly aggressive alignment. I've bought a new front tire, but am holding off on having it installed until this issue is resolved.
Any ideas?

roll your fenders.. i run 18x10 +62 and 18x8.5 and I'm slammed. But I have all my fenders rolled and never ever rub.

I thought about that, but when I looked at the front fenders the "lip" is only about 1/8" wide and doesn't seem like there is much material to roll.

Do you still have the black plastic liner for the wheel wells in the front? If thats removed I would put them back. If they are there then I would try getting a pro to roll the fronts. Also I know you have the same suspension set up as me, so trying putting the shocks on the stiffest settings.
Yes, the inner fender liners are still on. If I had my car with me right now I would post some pics, but it is in the shop getting some work done. Regarding rolling the fronts, what part of the fender is actually rolled? If it is simply the lip, I believe it is only an 1/8" wide. Does that little bit make a difference?
Maybe I should get a front camber kit so that I can run more than -2.5 camber up front???
Well, here is my hypothesis...
We know that combo can work without rubbing, so:
The wheels and tires are what they are. So the only variables are your ride height and your alignment. I imagine your "two finger" height is ok, so long as your shocks are still good and you arent bottoming it out.
The only questionable variable here is the alignment... are you sure the alignment is what you say it is??? Did you get a spec sheet of the alignment??? Do you really trust the shop that did it??? You might want to get the alignment checked to make sure.

Regarding the shop, it is a very repitable shop here in San Diego.
