Default Why are my tires rubbing!?!

I've talked a bunch of people running the same wheel and tire setup as me and they have had no rubbing issues. However, I put on my 18" Volk LE-37's tonight and I am very disappointed! I can't even drive around town without it rubbing and forget taking a corner at any kind of speed!! I don't get it! Any suggestions? Please help!

I'm afraid your question is useless without any info about your offsets, rim width and tires.

When you say you have the "same" wheel, do you know for a fact that the offsets and widths of yours are exactly identical to those others you speak of. You can have the same model of wheel but completely different specs. And the bit about being lowered also comes into play. Are you missing something in your description?

I am lowered, RS*R Ti2000 and koni's. The offset are regular for that wheel for the S2000 18x7 +48 and 18x8.5 +50. I know i have the same wheel and tire setup because one of the people that said they never had any rubbing issues was the board member i bought them from.

Were these "bunches of other people" lowered? Those offsets are marginal for stock height. If you are lowered and none of those "bunches" are, you should not be surprised.

Any camber adjustments? For me, the rubbing occured more on angled slopes rather than sharp corners. Anyways, you may want to have it checked out at a reputeable alignment or wheel shop to make sure. Good luck and nice wheels!

should we guess what the tire sizes are, or are you going to share that information? Are you only rubbing in the back, front, or both? Did you ever do an alignment after you installed the shocks and springs?

your fronts should be fine.. i'm running 17x7 +42 -1.25 camber and i'm dropped a little over 2 inches and i have no issues with rubbing...

the rears might be your issue.. but i dunno what size tires you're running....

go get an alignment done if you haven't done so yet, and see if you still rub then..

The actual tires can be different in section width which may cause them to rub if you have a wider tire. You may need to run more negative camber as well.
